Mohamed Salah threatens to quit Liverpool over Nabil Fekir

Mohamed Salah has reportedly threatened to leave Liverpool after the Reds failed to sign Nabil Fekir. The Egyptian international had an outstanding first season at Anfield, scoring 44 goals and registering 14 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.

Salah’s impressive form for the club and the country over the last 12 months has seen him linked with the giants of La Liga Barcelona and Real Madrid, as well as several other major European clubs.

Meanwhile, Fekir was due to join Liverpool from Lyon, but the Reds attempted to reduce the transfer fees after discovering a knee problem during his medical exam, which led to the collapse of the deal.

According to the Spanish ambassador Don Balon, Salah wanted the France international to join the Merseysiders after a remarkable season in France, and is dissatisfied with the news of the collapsed deal.

The report goes on to say that the 25-year-old has sent his club an ultimatum expressing his feelings and is now thinking of offers from Barça and Real.

Salah is contracted in Liverpool until June 2022.
