Winners receive ₦5,200,000.00 at 2019 Education Convention organised by Meadow Hall Foundation

Meadow Hall Foundation Nigeria has rewarded outstanding teachers at the 2019 Education Convention held on May 5th, 2019 at Landmark Centre, Lagos.

While increasing the access to education is important, the promise of improving the educational outcome of the Nigerian Child by enhancing teaching quality is a key commitment for Meadow Hall Foundation, a subsidiary of Meadow Hall Group. And in a bid to fulfilling this promise, Meadow Hall Foundation rewarded six inspirational teachers at the just concluded Education Convention 2019.

Explaining what necessitated the awards, the Chairman of Meadow Hall Foundation, Sir Demola Aladekomo explained that Nigerian teachers need to be encouraged because of the difficult circumstances in which they work.

“Nigerian teachers are one of the best in the world operating under very difficult circumstances but always giving their very best at every giving opportunity. Teachers are the bedrock of a nation, of a country and of a people. Without them we are nobodies.

Just like any positive issue, like truths, just like the facts, you need constant reiteration, you need to communicate the importance of teachers to the society. Unfortunately, most of us do not recognise or appreciate the importance of teachers and that is what we have been trying to do in these past few conventions. We are just starting. We shouldn’t have the ambition of changing this nation in 3 to 4 years. It is going to be a continuous process.”

Mrs. Akimbami Modupe Adebola and Mrs. Charity Tony-ubah emerged the winner of the Inspirational School Leader of the year and were both rewarded with a ₦1,250,000.00 cash prizes each. Mr. Lanre Abolaji Oguntoye and Mr. Soji Megbowon were winners of the Inspirational Teacher of the year and each received ₦850,000.00 cash prize while Mr. Olusegun Michael Adeniyi and Mr. Tajudeen Ayofe Amusan emerged as runners-up of the Inspirational Teacher of the year and were each rewarded with ₦500,000.00 cash prize.

The winners were delighted and grateful to Meadow Hall, their students, their fellow teachers, the school management and the Lagos State Government for recognising their efforts. They especially thanked the Meadow Hall Foundation for their commitment, transparency and flawless process in selecting the award winners of the Inspirational Educator Awards and in keeping with the promise of their brand.

Meadow Hall Foundation is the non-profit arm of Meadow Hall Group. The foundation partners with individuals, public and private organisations to implement sustainable initiatives.
