AFCON 2019: Nigeria’s Super Eagles to get $95,000 bonus for each Win

The Nigerian senior football team, Super Eagles will get a delectable $95,000 bonus each to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 tournament holding in Egypt each to win the 2019 in Egypt.

Speaking with Sports Extra, Osasu Obayiuwana who is a member of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Reforms Committee noted; “Group stage wins: $10k; Round of 16: $12.5k; QF: $15k; SF: $17.5k. And if they win the AFCON 2019 final: $20k. So, each player would earn $95,000 for winning AFCON2019.”

So far, the Super Eagles have earned themselves &10,000 for their 1-0 win against Burundi on Saturday and would add another $20,000 if they win their remaining Group B matches against Guinea and Madagascar.

A win at the round of 16 will guarantee them an additional $12,500 each while victories in the quarter-finals and the semi-finals will see the team netting $15,000 and $17,500 respectively. Lastly, a win at the final making them three-time winners of the competition, will earn the players a $20,000 match bonus.

Also, the coaching crew made of Gernot Rohr, Alloy Agu and Imana Amapakabo as well as the backroom staff will get juicy sums. While Coach, Rohr will pocket a double of what each player gets, all others will get a 75 percent of same.

Nigeria and Guinea will lock horns in their next Group B encounter on Wednesday June 26 and would meet with the Madagascar team on Sunday June 30.
