Dangote Begins 2020 $4.3bn Richer, Joins World’s Top 100 Richest

Nigerian business magnate, Aliko Dangote is $4.3 billion richer and has joined the ranks of worlds’ top 100 richest persons.   

Adding to his wealth before the end of 2019, Dangote finished the decade with a net worth of almost $15 billion, making him the 96th wealthiest man on earth.

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he became $4.3 billion richer in 2019 with earnings from sugar, cement and flour.

Born into a wealthy family of prominent traders in Kano, Dangote started business at a relatively young age of 21 and moved into manufacturing building materials in the 1990s.

The 62 years old mogul is close to completing what is touted as one of the world’s largest oil refineries in Lagos, Nigeria where his fertilizer factory is also located.

The African richest man heads the Dangote Industries which accounts for more than a fifth of the value of the Nigerian stock exchange.
