Nigerian Startup Helium Health Raises $10m Series A Funding Round

Helium Health, an e-health startup based in Lagos, Nigeria, has raised US$10 million in Series A funding to extend its presence in global markets and push into new ones.

Helium Health, established in 2016, makes hospitals and clinics instantly digital with its flagship product Electronic Medical Records / Hospital Management Information System (EMR/HMIS), the most commonly used solution of this kind in West Africa.

The company disclosed the completion of a funding round for the US$ 10 million Series A, led by Global Projects and Asia Africa Investment & Consulting (AAIC). Tencent, Ohara Pharmaceutical Co, HOF Capital, Y Combinator, VentureSouq, Chrysalis Capital, Kairos Angels and the Flying Doctors Healthcare Investment Company are also involved.

Helium Health will use the funding to broaden its business reach. In addition to increasing its existing customer base in Nigeria, Ghana, and Liberia, this year the organization will use the funding to support its growth into new markets in North
