Twelve female tech startups founders have been chosen for “The Future is Female”, a PR and mentorship programme launched by a New York-based public relations (PR) company C. Moore Media. The programme is focused on the business growth of African women.
The Future is Female was launched last month by C. Moore Media to provide the underserved population of African female founders of early-stage startups with PR and communication expertise, information, and skills required to gain exposure and expand their business.
In total, 139 applications from 18 different African countries were received. While the program originally launched with the aim of selecting 10 African female tech startups founders to participate, the quantity and consistency of the applications prompted the internal judges to extend the initiative, resulting in the selection of 12 finalists.
The startups selected startups are Uganda’s, Chi Ai Lab, Easy Matatu, and Mkaziprenuer; Nigeria’s Movemeback, CAWSTEM, and Clean Technology Hub; and South Africa’s Kweza Technologies, RPA Nuggets, and Vuka Deliveries.
The list is concluded by Kenya’s Tech Educate, Ghana’s Divaloper, and Tanzania’s Ninsiima eDispensary.
The mentees will gain insights into PR and communication fundamentals for tech startups during the four-month mentorship program, including how to develop and execute a communications plan. Furthermore, African female tech startups founders will learn how to leverage PR and communications to attract clients, attract investors, and secure leading partnerships tailored to the particular needs of their company and sector.

Upon completion of this program, the founders will be able to utilise their knowledge to gain exposure, develop their company, and build their brand.
“We were delighted by the response to the programme. African tech female founders are underserved and often overlooked when it comes to the distribution of investments and resources. We wanted to create a complimentary program dedicated exclusively to African tech female founders to support them in their entrepreneurial journey as tech startups,” said Claudine Moore, founder of C. Moore Media.
“We are excited to leverage our PR and communications knowledge and expertise alongside our global business network to facilitate these female founders in achieving their goals.”
