Flour Mills Appoints Jumia’s Juliet Anammah as a Director

Juliet Anammah, who currently serves as Jumia Nigeria’s Chairman of the board of directors, has been appointed as a director by Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc.

According to a public disclosure that was sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, as seen by Business Elites Africa, Mrs Anammah’s appointment took effect on September 10th, 2020. Flour Mills’ Chairman, John Coumantaros, commented on the appointment saying:

“I am truly excited to welcome Juliet to the Board of Directors. Her over 28 years of executive leadership experience in business consulting and e-commerce in Africa will be of tremendous value to FMN as we continue to position the group to take advantage of the changing consumer landscape in the food and agro-allied sectors. Her appointment represents our determination to ensure that we have a diverse mix of skills and viewpoints on the FMN board and continue to fulfill our purpose of feeding the nation, everyday.”

Note that Anammah is widely seen as a champion of eCommerce in Africa. She was the Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Group for many years until January this year when she was promoted to the position of Chairman and overseer of institutional affairs for Jumia’s operations across the African continent.

Note that it was during her time as CEO that Jumia became listed on the New York Stock Exchange, the first African tech company to do so.

She is an alumnus of the Wharton Business School and had previously served as the Managing Director of Accenture before before joining Jumia in 2015.
