BREAKING: Video Shows ‘Nigerian Soldiers’ Shooting at unarmed #EndSARS Protesters in Lagos
Multiple eyewitness images and videos which surface on Social Media on Tuesday, Oct. 20, showed a heavy shooting at Lekki Toll gate in Lagos, Nigeria, hours after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu declared a statewide 24-hours curfew in the state.
The state was placed on a total lockdown after anti-police brutality protests, which has been ongoing since last week, was infiltrated by hired thugs. But peaceful protesters at one of the known protest grounds – Lekki toll gate – refused to leave the location.
It was gathered that at about 7:00pm, the ‘Nigerian soldiers’ moved to the location and opened fire on the protesters who bravely chanted the National anthem and waved the Nigerian flag while they received live rounds of ammunition from the gunmen.
A video shared on Twitter showed men dressed in the Nigerian Army uniform shooting at unarmed protesters at a close range. A picture showing the bullets allegedly used by the gunmen in the shooting spree was also circulated on the micro-blogging site.

Many are feared dead while tons are reportedly injured. First responders who attempted to reach the location were said to have been turned back by soldiers, while hospitals and other medical service providers were reportedly instructed from the high-up not to attend to casualties from the scene.
In a statement released by the government spokesman, Gbenga Omotosho, the state is investigating the Lekki shooting. “The State Government has ordered an investigation into the incident,” a statement read.
World leaders, including former US Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, have condemned the shooting and called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Army “to stop killing young #EndSARS protesters”.
I’m calling on @mbuhari and the @hqnigerianarmy to stop killing young #EndSARS protesters. #StopNigeriaGovernment
