BREAKING: Private Television Station in Nigeria, TVC Under Attack

Unknown gunmen are said to have invaded one of Nigeria’s private television stations, Television Continental (TVC) in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub. The attackers are reportedly attempting to gain entrance into the studio where a live program ‘Your View’ is ongoing.

One of the presenters of the breakfast show, Morayo Afolabi-Brown confirmed that the armed men are attempting to burn down the station as they are stuck inside the studio. The Station has already gone offline.

In a live Instagram video, Morayo was heard pleading with the attackers to let them go until one of them discovered she was recording them. It is unclear what happened afterwards.

TVC is believed to be owned by Bola Tinubu, a Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress. He has been accused of being complicit in the massive shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
