Lagos-based Dating Startup, Trueflutter, Raises Undisclosed sum from Local Investors

Trueflutter, a Nigerian dating app which helps Africans find love from across the world, has just raised funding from three local investors namely: SSE Angel Network, Lagos Angel Network, and SGC7375. The funding is expected to help Trueflutter to accelerate its growth/expansion plans.

A statement that was seen by Business Elites Africa quoted Bunmi Lawson (a Board member of Lagos Angel Network) to have expressed belief that the investment will go a long way towards assisting the Trueflutter team to actualise the company’s business goal.

“For many eligible singles in Africa, finding a compatible partner can often prove to be a prolonged and daunting experience. We are confident that Dare’s team has created the right product to address this,” Lawson said. Note that no mention was made about the actual amount that was raised.

Trueflutter was established in September 2018, specifically targeting African single people who are in search of serious and long-term relationships. The founders ensured that Trueflutter’s unique selling point is its compatibility with African culture and value systems. The app also has high-end security features and advanced algorithm.

Dare Olatoye, the Co-founder and CEO of Trueflutter, said “we strongly believe that people should never settle in relationships, and have set out to help Africans across the world find life partners. We know our people, understand their preferences, and have put that knowledge into building the world’s most culturally compatible matchmaking app. The backing of these networks is an important milestone in our mission to make the Trueflutter platform available to Africans globally.”
