Video: A New Spa in Egypt uses Dangerous Snakes to Massage Customers and Business is Booming
A Spa owner in Cairo, Egypt, Safwat Sedki, is revolutionizing the wellness business in the North African nation as he introduces a new but weird method of massage – Snake massage – which he claims helps relieve joint pains.
According to a CNN video, Sedki uses live and dangerous snakes to massage customers’ back and faces in what seems scary and seemingly far from relaxing to an average person.
In the video, Sedki was seen placing several live snakes on a customer’s oily back and face, while the snakes wriggle on the man’s body. He says some of the snakes are venomous while many of them are not. He claims that snake massages are a proven way to reduce pain in the muscles and joints, as well as improve blood circulation and release endorphins.
It was gathered that customers now pay about 100 Egyptian pounds or 6.35 US dollars per session of the Snake massage.
Although the customer in the video, Diaa Zein, claimed that he felt a sense of relief and rejuvenation during the session, he admitted he was scared at first.
