Somaliland Accelerator and Investor Innovate Ventures now Open for Applications

Applications are now open for the Somaliland Accelerator and Investor Innovate Ventures’s Women in Business Accelerator. At the end of the accelerator programme, four female-led startups with innovative ideas will each be receiving the sum of $20, 000 to help grow their businesses.

Business Elites Africa understands that the event is going to be a 4-week innovators’ accelerator, focused on training the Somali female entrepreneurs on various essential business skills.

Startups that have been selected to participate in the accelerator programme will not only be trained and receive business mentorship, they will also leverage the opportunity to network, pitch before local and international investors, and receive media coverage. However, only four winners will emerge.

Female entrepreneurs in Somaliland who are interested in participating in the accelerator have between now and the 31st of this month to submit their applications. At the end of the application process, a selection process will be carried out after which selected startups will be invited to a pre-accelerator bootcamp in Hargeisa. There, top 12 startups will be selected to proceed to the final 4-week event which will culminate in the emergence of four winners.

  • Somali female business owners with viable business ideas
  • Must be aged between 18 and 35 years old
  • Your business must be based in Somaliland
  • The owners are committed to attending the accelerator program in Hargeisa

What you should know about the Somaliland Accelerator and Investor Innovate Ventures

The programme has built a network of over 50 startups in its alumni membership since 2012 when it started. Also, over $150, 000 has been invested in female-led Somali enterprises. Information available on the acceletor’s website said:
