What you should Know about Aura by Transcorp, the new service by Transcorp Hotels Plc
One of Africa’s leading hospitality companies, Transcorp Hotels Plc, has launched Aura by Transcorp, an online marketplace for accommodation and experiences. A statement by the company said the new platform will serve the purpose of connecting travelers with great accommodation, great food, and wonderful memories.
The new platform also intends to serve as an avenue for people with unoccupied houses, hotels and restaurants to lease out their spaces, thereby earning passive income in return. Transcorp Hotels’ Chief Executive Officer, Dupe Olusola, described the new product with the following words:
“It’s a new dawn in the hospitality industry! I am thrilled to introduce you to Aura by Transcorp, the digital platform we are using to connect people to quality accommodation, great food, and awesome experiences. For more than 30 years, Transcorp Hotels Plc has been at the forefront of creating a superior guest experience at our locations. Today, our commitment to innovation has offered us an opportunity to extend this beyond the hotel
Launching Aura by Transcorp is obviously a very strategic step by the company as it tries to diversify its business model in order to remain profitable in the long-run.
As you may well know, the devastation caused by the COVID-induced economic fallout of 2020 greatly affected the hospitality industry. To this end, any player that hopes to remain profitable going forward must ensure to become very innovative. Transcorp Hotels knows this all-too-well, which is why it is now diversifying. Part of the statement by the company noted that “with the launch of Aura, Transcorp Hotels Plc. has further cemented its leadership in the hospitality industry and reinforced its commitment to innovation and superior guest experience across different demographics.”
Note, however, that Aura by Transcorp will be competing with the likes of Hotels.NG and other online accommodation platforms that are already dominating the space. Also, the service is only available in Nigeria for the meantime, although there are plans to expand to other African cities soon.
