Sterling Bank Appoints Ankala Syam Prasad, Paritosh Tripathi as Non-Executive Directors
Sterling Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Ankala Syam Prasad and Mr Paritosh Tripathi as Non-Executive Directors of the tier-2 Nigerian bank.
In a corporate action that was sent to the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Sterling Bank explained that the appointments are still subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN. Upon approval by the apex bank, Mr Prasad and Mr Tripathi will replace Ramesh Rajapur and Grama Narasimhan who recently left the Board.
About Ankala Syam Prasad
Mr. Prasad is a graduate of Nagarjuna University in India where he obtained both a Bachelor of Science degree and later a Master of Science He also graduated with an MBA (Financial Management) from the University of Mumbai, also in India.
He currently works as the Country Head and Chief Executive Officer of State Bank of India’s South
African Operations. Checks by Business Elites Africa shows that he began working with State Bank of India in 1995 as a Probation Officer. He then went on to serve in various capacities, building an extensive banking experience in the long-run. He has been described as an expert in project finance and foreign exchange business. He is also well experienced in regulatory compliance and reporting.
About Paritosh Tripathi
He is currently the General Manager in charge of Operations at State Bank of India’s International Banking Group. He began working at State Bank of India in 1990 as a Probationary Officer and has over the past thirty years risen through various ranks to his current position. He has also been described as an expert in the implementation of IT related policies and IT Infrastructure. As part of his job, he oversees the Operations & Information System Functions of the State Bank of India. He is also responsible for HR and Overseas Expansion Planning and Strategy. More so, he performs oversight functions in the areas of performance monitoring, budgeting, strategy, advertisement and marketing.
Paritosh Tripathi obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration
(MBA) from the University of Lucknow. He is also a certified Associate of the Indian Institute
of Bankers.
