Outcry as Chadwick Boseman Oscar Loss Leaves Fans Disappointed

Hopes were raised for a posthumous win for Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman when the Oscars producers decided to reverse the traditional order of the award, choosing to close with the Best Actress and Best Actor prize instead of Best Picture.

However, Boseman did not get the Oscar win for his performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom as Anthony Hopkins received the prize for his role in The Father.

Boseman had won the prize at this year’s Golden Globes and SAG Awards. It looked that that would also be the case with this year’s Oscars but the turnout of events has made it unclear if Steven Solderberge, the producer, decided to switch the order of the awards because he expected Boseman to win.

This unexpected ending to the Oscars has caused an outrage on Twitter fans felt betrayed in what could have been a memorable win for Boseman. They’ve also taken a shot at the forgettable ending to the Oscars with Hopkins not being present to accept the award.

Before his demise, Boseman won the hearts of many across the globe through his acting. From James Brown in “Get On Up,” Thurgood Marshall in “Marshall” to T’Challa in “Black Panther,” Boseman’s versatility and old-fashioned emotional depth helped him become one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.
