Education is a popular choice for many individuals, but it is gradually dwindling because anyone can become a teacher nowadays, even if they have a different type of degree. Worse, many teachers are underappreciated and earn low salaries.

There are many things you can accomplish with an education degree, but the fact is that work possibilities are shrinking and the number of unemployed teachers is rising across the country.

Fashion Design

The level of rivalry among renowned fashion designers has risen dramatically, owing to the fact that they’ve designed so many garments that coming up with new ideas has become practically difficult. Every ten years, the same patterns and colour trends emerge, and there are rarely any job openings for fashion designers. Starting a brand is a different tale, but it’s still difficult because you’ll require a lot of assets and resources.

If you’re serious about pursuing a career in fashion design, you’ll need to put a lot of effort into your portfolio. Create a fashion blog, learn to sew, and create doll designs. You could also major in Fine Arts or Graphic Design. Finally, make contacts with influential people and offer your ideas.

There isn’t enough work for History majors, and while knowing the past might help you make better judgments in the future, businesses prefer individuals who are focused on the present.

Teaching is the most common professional path for history majors, but even that requires a separate teaching credential. Archivist or research assistant are two other options.

Computer Science

Computer science is one of the most promising STEM fields, but it is also one of the most crowded. More importantly, there are numerous subfields within computer science that appeal to the interests of pupils. It’s a demanding and exhausting degree to pursue, with fewer job prospects that match your interests. More crucially, many computer science textbooks become obsolete as soon as they are published, necessitating careful attention on the part of the educator.

Advertising and Public Relations

To be successful, every business must have a marketing strategy. Only a few companies specialise in advertising or public relations. According to data, a marketing degree is preferred by a wider spectrum of hiring managers over a degree in advertising and public relations.

Despite the similarity of the degrees, a Marketing degree is more thorough, covering market research, public relations, media planning, sales strategy, customer service, product pricing and distribution, and community involvement.

Marketing expertise assures the organization that you will be able to communicate their message to the public.

Theatrical Arts

Many accomplished actors will tell you that formal theatre arts education is crucial if you want to pave your way to success and get cast in whatever role you want. However, the theatrical arts are not only overcrowded but also incredibly tough to get into. Many performers utilise their positions of power to place their children in the performing arts. Not to mention the bribes and connections pulled to get into a role.

What to do: There are various alternatives to the theatre arts, and one of them is to establish a social media or YouTube presence. Many companies use social media to find hidden talents, allowing people to start their careers from the ground up.

Environmental Science

While there is an increasing demand for environmental scientists, it is a highly specialised area in which new graduates may find it difficult to stand out.

Many businesses, on the other hand, are concerned about their carbon footprint and want to know how they may better protect the environment without hurting their bottom line.

A degree in Natural Resource Management, for example, could help you get your foot in the door; people with this degree have a 2% unemployment rate.
