Technical writing is one of the most sought-after high-paying jobs coming up in the tech space. They work in sync with product developers to interpret the intricate workings of a system, product, or programme, into simple, understandable language. This serves as instructions to guide users and ensure they have a smooth user experience with the product.

Some of the software used by technical writers to convert codes into understandable text are GitHub and binary code, artificial intelligence (AI), and networking are some of the areas technical writers cover. Due to its technicality, you need to have specific technical skills. To upskill, you can learn on platforms such as Coursera and Allison.

Cloud Architect

Technology advancement has evolved the process of storing information beyond the traditional method. Information is now stored in the cloud. It involves keeping information, data and programmes in remote servers, making them accessible for use from anywhere and on any device. An example of cloud-based file storage service is Amazon web and Google Drive. With this, businesses do not need to handle and sustain their own servers. 

The importance of this job has seen the need for cloud architects increase. Cloud architects bridge the gaps between business issues and cloud-based solutions. Hence, the cloud architect collaborates DevOps engineers and developers, to guarantee that the appropriate technology or technologies are being developed.

A Cloud Architect at Microsoft earns N20,000,000 annually. Out of it, the base salary is N16,000,000 annually, with an additional 4, 000,000 for bonuses, stocks, commissions, profit-sharing, and tips.

Full-Stack developer

Though not at its peak, developers are on the increase in Africa. The need for skilled developers has, in turn, made it one of the unmistakable highest-paying tech jobs in Africa. From the 2021 Africa Developer Ecosystem report by Google and Accenture, Africa recorded 716,000 professional developers, a 3.8% increase from the 700,000 in 2020. Also, software developer compensation rose by an average of 11% in 2021. This is due to the boom in the startup ecosystem and remote work, which has unlocked opportunities.

Though some are just front-end or back-end developers, some double as experts in both. This, in turn, has seen the rise in full-stack developers who are experts as front-end or back-end developers.

Blockchain Engineer

With the increase in blockchain technology, the need for blockchain engineers continues to increase. They develop and implement architecture and solutions using blockchain technology.

To be in this field, you need to have good knowledge of programming, crypto libraries and technologies such as Ripple, R3, Ethereum, and Bitcoin.
