Kanye West’s Twitter Suspended Again: Elon Musk Explains
Kanye West’s Twitter account was disabled once more on Friday, exactly two months after it had been reopened following claims from Elon Musk that he had broken the platform’s rules against inciting violence.
Musk, who identifies as an ardent supporter of free expression, had praised Ye’s return to the stage in October.
“I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended,” Musk tweeted late on Thursday.

Why Kanye West’s Twitter account is getting suspended by Elon Musk
Kanye West’s Twitter account was suspended an hour after Musk responded to a Twitter user who had said, “Elon Fix Kanye Please”.
Before his suspension, Kanye West posted a photo that appeared to show a Nazi swastika enclosed in a Star of David, a Jewish religious icon. He said in the post that the picture will serve as his 2024 presidential campaign’s logo.
Twitter had restricted one of Ye’s posts before suspending his account, which has over 30 million followers.
Prior to Elon Musk’s $44 billion buyout of the social networking site, the rapper’s account was reinstated. Later, Musk confirmed that he had played no part in getting Ye back on Twitter.
Ye posted a picture of Hollywood mogul Ari Emanuel using a hose to splash water at Elon Musk’s back on Thursday. Before the account was suspended, he captioned the photo, “Let’s always remember this as my final tweet #ye24.”
Ye’s account was suspended, Musk said, for inciting violence rather than for publishing “an unattractive photo of me being hosed by Ari.”
“Just clarifying that his account is being suspended for incitement to violence, not an unflattering pic of me being hosed by Ari. Frankly, I found those pics to be helpful motivation to lose weight! I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence, the account will be suspended.”
Elon Musk restoring other banned account
Since taking over, Musk has reinstated numerous accounts that Twitter had previously terminated for violating its policies. This includes Kathy Griffin, a comedian, and the parody website Babylon Bee.
Musk also made the decision to restore former American President Donald Trump’s account after the majority of Twitter users supported Trump’s reinstatement in a poll.
