Sujimoto Founder and Philanthropist Sijibomi Ogundele Returns to His Agege

Sijibomi Ogundele, philanthropist and founder of the Sujimoto luxury real estate company in Africa, Sujimoto recently posted on social media to share his happiness upon returning to his alma mater, The New Oko-Oba Primary School in Agege, after roughly 33 years.

This was in fulfilment of his earlier promise to provide lifetime scholarships for fifty students, which brought tears of pleasure to the faces of the students of New Oko-Oba Primary School, their parents, and their teachers.

He confirmed his promise to be a member of the school’s support system and to give mentorship and encouragement to the school on December 1st, 2022, while visiting the school for their inter-house sport.

He quoted on his Instagram,  “We must never forget that, as humans, we have two hands — one for helping yourself, the other for helping others,

Education is the backbone of our future, and no matter how far we go, we should never forget the days of our humble beginnings because anyone can come from Ikorodu and move to Ikoyi.

As I experienced the inter-house sport of New Oko-Oba primary school yesterday, watching them run around the field, I can never forget growing up in Agege, and I would make sure these kids see the light at the end of the tunnel through me, maximising their full potentials as champions and leaders of tomorrow.

God bless me so I can continue impacting this coming generation of uncommon talents.”

The yearly inter-house tournament was a beautiful day filled with anticipation, rivalry, and enjoyment.

The students from the various sports houses (pink, white, yellow, green, purple, and blue) actively participated in a variety of games throughout the entire event, including relay races, 100- and 200-meter races, sack races, picking-the-balls races, egg races, and more.

The pink house, which won the day’s competition in first place, narrowly edged out the white house, which bears Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele’s name.

The Head Mistress gave a speech of thanks following the interactive activities, thanking everyone for their continued support of the school over the years.

Dr. Sijibomi Ogundele, has never been reluctant to discuss his childhood and how he became the “ovarian lottery” winner.

He continually tells the young people that no matter where they come from or where they grow up, you can always succeed if you follow the D.I.E. (diligence, integrity, and excellence) philosophy. He wears his past like a badge of honour.

The adage “Your upbringing has nothing to do with your uplifting” is a testament to the life of Sijibomi Ogundele, who moved from the most impoverished areas of Agege to the wealthiest areas of Ikoyi while starting from scratch his luxury company, Sujimoto Group, which is now valued at over half a billion dollars.

Sijibomi Ogundele talking about giving back

Ogundele discussed the importance of giving back to the community that helped nurture him.

“Generosity is ingrained in my DNA, thanks to my mother, the No.1 Motomatician who always said “Òkè lọwọ́ afunni ńgbé”, meaning the hand that gives never lacks.”

He ends with “to accomplish great things, we must not only dream but also plan, not only believe but also act.

Wherever you go and whatever ends you pursue, you must always fulfill the trust reposed in you by your nation, your parents and your alma mater.”
