Tinubu is Hoarding New Naira Notes For Selfish Agenda, PDP Alleges
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has been accused of allegedly spearheading the hoarding and interception of the new naira notes for a selfish agenda. The Peoples Democratic Party issued this accusation in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Debo Ologunagba.
The opposition party expressed displeasure at the attitude of corrupt leaders, allegedly hoarding new naira notes. They noted that Nigerians are suffering because of their inability to access the new Naira. According to the statement, Atiku blamed the hardship of Nigerians on the “reported nefarious activities of corrupt APC leaders who are compromising the system.”
PDP’s disgust at Tinubu’s claims
The party also registered disgust at the claims of the presidential candidate of the APC that the naira redesign was targeted against him. It noted that despite Tinubu’s “alleged role in the cash scarcity, he is pointing accusing fingers at others and seeking to exploit the ugly situation to incite unsuspecting Nigerians with the view to disrupting the 2023 general elections.”
PDP further stressed that Tinubu and his supporters are trying to derail the electoral process by devising all manner of “shenanigans” to force an undemocratic situation upon the country.
PDP claims Nigerians know the truth
Ologunagba asserted that Nigerians hold Asiwaju Tinubu and his party, APC directly responsible for the troubles they have faced in the cash scarcity. He said they know the truth and will “deal Tinubu a humiliating blow with their votes at the February 25, 2023, Presidential elections.”
The opposition party further charged President Buhari to protect Nigerians and go after the APC leaders and saboteurs in the system. It also instructed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to pay attention to the sufferings of Nigerians and act decisively and ensure that cash is distributed evenly.
