Obi, Atiku Demands Elections Material Inspections in Court
The Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic party presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar have approached the Presidential Election Court respectively to seek permission for the inspection of the election materials used during the last presidential and national assembly election.
This is coming after the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the All Progressive Congress presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the presidential poll.
Obi and Atiku, having refused to accept defeat, have vowed to recover their mandate by going through the judicial processes in court.
The president-elect, Bola Tinubu earlier made a conciliatory gesture in his acceptance speech after he was declared the winner. He asked them to support him in the task of building the nation which the two candidates blatantly rebuffed.
Obi and Atiku who spoke at separate news conferences held in Abuja on Thursday had requested the PEC in Abuja to allow them inspect materials used for the February 25th election.
Their request which is contained in two ex-parte motions they filed at the Professional Executive Committee (PEC) secretariat at the Court of Appeal, Abuja with the Independent Electoral Commission and two others as respondents have been listed for hearing on Friday (today).
