Peter Obi said, Tinubu’s Victory is not God’s will for Nigerians 

Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) has said the victory of Bola Tinubu as the president-elect under the platform of the All Progressive Party (APC) is not the will of God for Nigerians.

Obi on Monday while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show made this assertion. The flag bearer of the Labour Party who had lost the general election coming third after Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) said, God’s wish was for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to conduct a credible, free and fair election.

Obi further stated that one problem of Nigeria is accepting wrongdoing and what is unacceptable. Which is what a lot of the people are actually preaching. According to him, “That is using God’s name in vain. That is not what God is saying. God said do not use my name in vain.

Obi who is one of the aggrieved party of the just concluded election and had gone to court reclaim his stolen mandate and seek a redress. He believed it was not God’s wish and plan for Nigeria to have an unfair electoral process. 

“Pastors are preaching the problem of Nigeria; it’s not God’s wish for Nigeria. Is it God’s wish that we don’t have electricity, a mortality rate? He added

According to him, there are clear laws about election conduct which should guide our electoral processes and not resolve to calling an unfair election, God’s will. He further stated that if we should make sure God’s wish is truly God’s wish and not steal or conduct a wrong election.

Recall that Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady following the Presidential and National Assembly elections conducted on the 25th of February, had earlier described Bola Tinubu’s victory as the will of God. She said, “Regardless of our interests and diversity, we should all accept it as the will of Almighty God; we wouldn’t have done it without his grace.”
