Chief Imam Advises Tinubu to Learn From the Mistakes of Buhari’s administration

Professor Abdulrahman Oloyede, the Chief Imam of the University of Ibadan, has urged the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to learn from the flaws of the present administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies appeals to the president-elect that this is essential for the incoming administration to run and have a successful administration.

Oloyede while addressing journalists made these statements minutes after he led a gathering of thousands of Muslims to observe the Eld el-Fitr prayer on Friday.

He urged Tinubu to learn from all the errors and mistakes committed by the Buhari administration since 2015.

The prayer was attended by several prominent personalities in the state. This includes Senator Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, the former Governor of Oyo State, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the Chief Justice of the Federation, amongst others.

The Eid el-Fitr is a celebration observed by Muslims on the first day of the month of Shawwal which signifies the end of the one-month Ramadan fasting.

According to him, learning from the present administration’s flaws would be a guide and allow the President-elect to run a successful government.

He further said that the former Governor of Lagos State should act like the present administration would end tomorrow.

“This incoming government should start now as if tomorrow will be the end of the regime. They should make sure they do what will make Nigeria peaceful and what will make Nigerians happy”, he said.

He also advised Tinubu to be fair to all categories of people irrespective of their religion, ethnic or political affiliations.

“We have become more divided than ever before. What is important is that whoever is in power should be fair to the people and fear Allah, he added.

He said conclusively that if you are just to everyone, no one will ask which religion you belong to. He urged those in power to be just to all categories of people and leave the rest to Allah.
