How Lagos Police Plans To Detain Kuti Till Monday
The Lagos State Police Command has secured a court order to remand the embattled Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti till Monday. This was disclosed by the defendant’s lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).
Speaking during an interview with Channels Television today, the lawyer hinted that the police approached the Magistrate’s Court in Yaba for a variation of the bail earlier granted to the singer.
The lawyer revealed that the singer was not represented in court today as his legal team was not informed that they were appearing in court today. Olumide-Fusika said by the time he got to court, the deed had been done.
Olumide Fusika explained that though the police applied for a variation of the bail, the Magistrate refused and extended Kuti’s detention till Monday.
These details have however not been confirmed by the Lagos police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin.
