Fuel-Free Innovation: Nigerian Man Launches Electric Bikes, Price Sparks Reactions

After the surge in fuel prices nationwide, a Nigerian entrepreneur, Owelle has unveiled a new transportation solution. Introducing a luxurious electric bike, the businessman encourages fellow Nigerians to consider adopting this alternative means of travel. 

Owelle took to Twitter to share images and videos of the innovative transportation option, encouraging those interested in acquiring one to send him a message. The release of photos and videos showcasing the bike, along with its pricing details, has triggered a significant response from Nigerians across various online platforms.

He stated that the cost is N1.3 million, but it is open to negotiation. He emphasized that every Nigerian should have the opportunity to own one.

Nigerians reacted to the price of the bike

Owelle’s post went viral on a social media platform, with numerous Nigerians expressing their concerns and finding faults about the price.

Some individuals expressed their apprehension that despite using electric bikes, there might still be a reliance on fuel to power generators, especially considering the inconsistent electricity supply in the country.

Nigerian man invented electric motorbikes in Uganda

A Nigerian scientist and engineer named Akaezuwa, had earlier made a remarkable achievement in Uganda by inventing electric motorcycles. Akaezuwa and his team embarked on this groundbreaking project as a solution to the fuel-related challenges in the East African nation. 

The President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, praised their efforts, recognizing the invention as a significant departure from traditional petrol vehicles. Akaezuwa, hailing from Nigeria, proudly shared that the team leveraged local talents and expertise to develop these vehicles, aiming to address the transportation needs of the Ugandan population.
