Telecom Industry Implements Groundbreaking Policies to Embrace Cleaner Energy, Slash Carbon Footprint : See How

The Nigerian Government On Thursday,  announced its intention to implement new policies in the telecoms sector aimed at promoting the utilization of clean and sustainable energy sources. This initiative aims to minimize the carbon footprint and foster environmental sustainability.

The Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Danbatta, revealed this information while participating in a roundtable discussion in Lagos, alongside representatives from academia, industry, and other stakeholders. Mr. Ubale Maska, the Executive Commissioner for Technical Services at NCC, represented him during the event. 

Prof. Danbatta emphasized that the forthcoming policy aims to provide a framework for telecom service providers, enabling them to play a significant role in building a more eco-friendly and sustainable future.

During an event titled “Refocusing Academic Research towards Alternative Clean Energy: Panacea to Paucity of Energy in the Telecoms Sector,” Prof. Umar Danbatta expressed his confidence in the clean energy policy, stating that it will not only benefit the environment but also spur innovation and generate new business opportunities within the telecoms industry.
