Bukayo Saka Earns Top Honors as England’s Player of the Year in 2023

For the second year in a row, Bukayo Saka has been honored as England’s Men’s Player of the Year, in association with EE, a British national mobile network operator, and internet service provider.

The supporters of the Three Lions selected the Arsenal striker as the most exceptional player of the 2022-23 season, with Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane following in second and third places, respectively.

Saka’s stellar year

Over the past year, Bukayo Saka made ten appearances for England, netting seven goals. His impressive record includes standout performances in four out of England’s five matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Notably, he was named Player of the Match in the opening victory against Iran.

The London-born talent also earned two more Player of the Match accolades this season, following England’s triumphs over Ukraine at Wembley Stadium, in association with EE, and North Macedonia at Old Trafford, where he scored his first career hat-trick.

Saka’s added international honours

Upon reporting for international duty at St. George’s Park during the September window, Bukayo Saka received an unexpected birthday gift as he turned 22, the news of his latest accolade.

The Arsenal star, who now boasts 28 senior international caps, has been enjoying a stellar season both for his club and country. His recent honors also include being named PFA Young Player of the Season and earning a spot in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

With his recent accolades behind him, Bukayo Saka is now focusing on England’s upcoming UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying match against Ukraine in Wroclaw, as well as the milestone 150th Anniversary Heritage Match against Scotland in Glasgow.
