Emergency: Fire Erupts at Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos
The international wing of Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos experienced a moment of confusion this morning due to a fire outbreak in a section of the primary gateway airport.
Newsmen gathered that the inferno originated from a malfunctioning cable on the Tarmac.
A statement from the public relations department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which confirmed the incident, however, said passengers and staff were successfully evacuated.
“All passengers and staff were asked to evacuate the building while the Lagos State Fire service was on hand to complement that of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).”
The fire had reportedly damaged a portion of the FAAN administrative office the previous night.
