Bola Tinubu Departs for 78th United Nations General Assembly

President Bola Tinubu has jetted to New York to attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from 18th-26th of September 2023. 

This marks his first appearance at the global summit since taking office in May.

This year’s UNGA theme is “Rebuilding Trust and Reigniting Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards Peace, Prosperity, Progress, and Sustainability for All.”

Tinubu is set to engage in bilateral discussions with a host of world leaders, including US President Joe Biden and EU Commission President Von Der Leyen.

This was disclosed by the Presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale. 

The president will also be scheduled for meetings with tech giants. He will sit with Microsoft’s global president, Brad Smith, and Meta Technologies’ Head of Global Affairs, Nick Clegg.

Bola Tinubu will also make his inaugural national statement at the UN headquarters. Furthermore, he will address American business leaders at the US Chamber of Commerce and participate in the NASDAQ closing ceremony.
