PDP Leadership Set to Engage Wike on Rivers State Crisis

In a bid to quell the growing political unrest in Rivers State, leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have scheduled a pivotal meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who formerly held the gubernatorial post in Rivers State. The move comes amid increasing tensions and an alleged plan to oust Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

CID Maduabum, the Director General of the PDP Governors’ Forum, shed light on the forthcoming meeting in a statement released after the Forum convened this past Tuesday. The chairman of the Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, will spearhead the delegation, which will comprise about ten other PDP governors.

Their primary aim is to initiate dialogue, hoping to pave a pathway towards reconciliation in the politically turbulent state.

This gathering, slated for 10.45 am, stems from a consensus made during the PDP Governors Forum meeting held on October 31st. By approaching Nyesom Wike, a seasoned politician familiar with the intricacies of Rivers State’s political landscape, the PDP leadership intends to broker peace and bring stability to the beleaguered state.

The decision to engage with Nyesom Wike emphasizes the gravity of the Rivers State crisis and highlights the party’s commitment to fostering unity and ensuring the welfare of its constituents. As the situation continues to evolve, all eyes will be on this critical meeting, hoping it can usher in a new era of harmony in Rivers State.
