A tragic death was recorded in the army as Captain Alphonsus Alexander Kalthy Bazza, a dedicated officer in the Nigerian Army, reportedly took his own life under mysterious circumstances in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State. 

The shocking death discovery was made by a family member who found Captain Bazza’s lifeless body hanging from a tree in a remote bush on Saturday night. As the nation grapples with this unsettling incident, questions surround the circumstances leading to the death of the Nigerian Army captain, leaving both family and authorities puzzled.

According to a close family source, Captain Bazza’s untimely demise is shrouded in mystery and suspicion. The source expressed disbelief at the idea that a man with such a promising future and who had recently become a father would choose to end his life. 

The family source revealed that Captain Bazza had not left behind a suicide note, leaving no clues as to the motivation behind this tragic act.

The family source lamented, “How can a Captain in the army hang himself with a mosquito net that he used to sleep? He didn’t have any reason to kill himself. Did he kill somebody? No! So why would he just kill himself? He lost his tent mate under mysterious circumstances when he was in Yobe. He got married in 2017 and he has only one child, a boy,” 

The Nigerian Army headquarters acknowledged the tragedy and promptly initiated an investigation to determine the true cause of Captain Bazza’s death. The family remains perplexed and unaware of any underlying issues that may have led to this shocking incident.

The family source added “We lost this young man (my brother-in-law), Captain Alphonsus Alexander Kalthy Bazza, last night. He committed suicide in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. But the army headquarters is investigating the real cause of his death. They claimed his body was found hanging in the bush. No note was given to either his wife or any member of his family; the family is not aware that he left any note behind.”
