IMF Executive Director, Kingsley Obiora has been nominated for the position of CBN deputy governor, economic policy directorate.
If ratified by the Nigerian Senate, Kingsley will replace Okwu Joseph Nnanna, who is due for retirement on February 2, 2020.
According to the President Buhari’s spokesman Femi Adesina, Buhari wrote to Senate President to Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Buhari saying that the nomination was in accord with the provision of section 8(1) (2) of the CBN Act 2007.
Obiora is the alternate executive director of Africa Group One Constituency of the IMF, Washington DC, US.
He has a first degree from the University of Benin as well as Masters and doctorate degrees in economics from the University of Ibadan.
