PDP Outraged Over Tinubu’s Campaign Song Played in National Assembly During 2024 Budget Session 

In a striking turn of events, the Nigerian political scene was jolted by an incident during the 2024 budget session in the National Assembly, where President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign song unexpectedly echoed through the chambers. This occurrence sparked a vehement outcry from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which vehemently condemned the playing of Tinubu’s campaign song during such a crucial parliamentary session.

The contentious moment unfolded as President Tinubu, the then-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was presenting the appropriation bill. While the National Assembly members stood in respect, Tinubu’s campaign song began playing, an act deemed highly inappropriate by the opposition party.

The PDP, in a forceful statement, labeled the incident as “extremely sacrilegious and unpardonable.” They accused President Tinubu and his team of assaulting the sensibility and constitutional sovereignty of the Nigerian populace, as embodied by the National Assembly.
