The wife of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, Nana Otedola is not just an ordinary housewife in Otedola’s dynasty, but she is a serial entrepreneur and philanthropist. Described as a woman of many talents and interests, Nana got married to Otedola on September 12, 1992, when his father, Michael Otedola was Governor of Lagos State.

Otedola’s wife who made her first social appearance after many years out of the limelight at the unveiling of the former beauty queen’s celebrity fitness and nutrition DVD that was held at Medici in Lagos has accompanied her husband to some high-profile events.

She is Otedola’s second lover

According to reports, Nana is Femi Otedola’s second lover. The Nigerian billionaire had an affair with Olayinka Odukoya who just finished secondary school at the time. Addressing newsmen, Olayinka said, “I just finished secondary school at that time and I was even working when he approached me for a relationship. I accepted his advances and somewhere along the line, I realised that I’d taken in for him.”

Reports also revealed that Olayinka’s initial pregnancy did not stop Otedola from coming back to her. This is as Olayinka also revealed that she got pregnant for him again while she was in catering school. Olayinka could however not get married to Otedola because of his mother’s resistance.

Her wealthy background influenced her marriage to Otedola

Otedola who was a trader at Iponri Shopping Complex was in love with Olayinka, but his mother, Lady Doja Otedola, vehemently kicked against the relationship. Narrating her ordeal to newsmen, Olayinka said, “His mum became extremely hostile to me, telling her son that he saw girls from rich backgrounds, but he didn’t go to them…Why would he go for someone from a humble background like me?”

Olawunmi is her stepdaughter

Olawunmi Christy Otedola is the product of Otedola’s love affair with Olayinka Odukoya. Known as the oldest daughter of Otedola, Christy schooled in the United Kingdom like her stepmother. Newsmen gathered that Nana loves Christy like her own, as Christy has grown to know her as a mother and friend. 

Nana has been largely mistaken for a Ghanian

Otedola’s wife has been largely mistaken for a Ghanian. Several publications have reported that she has Ghanaian blood probably because of her name “Nana”, which means “Your Highness” in Ghana. However, reports say Nana hails from Kogi State, Nigeria. She was born in the United Kingdom.

Her business focuses solely on cleaning

Femi Otedola’s wife has been described as a Nigerian entrepreneur who leads Garment Care. Founded in 1999, Garment Care is a laundry and dry-cleaning service provider with 6 branches located in Lagos, Nigeria. Garment Care is a member of the Guild of Cleaners and Launderers in the United Kingdom. Her cleaning company offers its services to customers of large entities like hotels and companies. 

She retired from Fineshade Energy Limited

Nana was employed as a Petroleum consultant at Fineshade Energy (UK) Limited on the 3rd of February, 2005. She worked with the organization for 13 years before retiring as a Director. The company which managed operations of agents involved in the sale of fuels, ores, metals and industrial chemicals sector was dissolved on the 2nd of May 2022. Reports say Nana Otedola was the largest shareholder with a 100% stake in the company.

She also sits on the board of the Zeebah Foundation

Otedola’s wife is also a board member at the Zeebah Foundation. The foundation is a not-for-profit organization that aims to offer every child with Autism (and other related special needs and disorders in Nigeria and the rest of Africa) the necessary support and tools such as inclusive education and intervention. Located in Maitama District Abuja, the Zeebah Foundation envisions an Africa where individuals with Autism and their families are educated and supported by local and global communities.
