2Face: AY Tells ‘Online In-Laws’ to Stop Hurtful Comments That Could Cause Suicide

Popular comedian AY Makun has spoken up about the harmful effects of social media comments as he discusses the divorce of 2baba and Annie Idibia.

In a heartfelt post on the social media platform X, AY defended people facing problems in their marriages.

“Instead of blaming people in broken marriages that you know nothing about, why not look at the problems the marriage itself is facing? No one starts a marriage wanting to fail.

It’s sad to see people online and in blogs enjoying the drama at the cost of those who are hurting.

Remember, these are real people’s lives—let’s show kindness instead of seeking drama. Some of you don’t stop until you push someone to the edge.”

AY made these comments after 2Baba announced he and his wife Annie were getting a divorce.

The situation got more confusing when 2Baba first said his account was hacked, but then made two more videos saying he was the one who made the original post.

He said clearly in Pidgin English, “Nobody hacked my accounts. Na me yarn weytin I yarn.”

This announcement has led to a lot of debates online, with celebrities and social media users alike questioning the timing and way 2Baba shared the news.

AY himself faced similar criticism in 2024 after rumors that he and his wife, Mabel Makun, were splitting up. This adds to his understanding of the intense public scrutiny that can come with personal problems.
