2Face Idibia and Annie’s divorce does not come as a surprise; their marriage was fraught with crises from the start. Before 2Face married Annie, he was dubbed the “Father Abraham of our time” because he had five children with two baby mamas.

On May 2, 2012, 2Face and Annie tied the knot, but his most prominent song, “African Queen,” was released in 2004, with Annie starring in the music video.

Shockingly, 2Face began dating Annie when she was just 15 years old, and he was 24, essentially grooming her to become his puppet. Had he been in the U.S., he might have been arrested for pedophilia.

In one of the episodes of Young, Famous, and African, Annie Idibia recounted how her husband and music legend, 2Face Idibia, had other children before they had their first child together.

The actress and her hubby were among the cast of the Netflix reality show, Young, Famous and African.

The movie star made this known during a chat with some of the cast members of the show.

“My first child is his 5th and I met him before everybody,” Annie Idibia speaks on her relationship with 2Baba.

According to the actress, she had been subjected to many humiliations and embarrassments and would always question how 2face made the same mistake twice.

“When you meet someone, then you know them first, and then you wake up to different people having babies for him, and then he has five different kids with other women.

My first child is his fifth, and I met him before everybody,” she said.

“So you know what that is? You know how many humiliations and embarrassments and damn, I was like… man… How do you repeat the same mistake twice?”

2. 2Face cheated on Annie with this baby mama.

Annie claimed that 2Face (or 2Baba) spent nights under the same roof with his children’s mother, Pero Adeniyi, when he was visiting their kids.

In the Instagram story post she later deleted, the movie star wrote, “Your baby mamas constantly use your children as an excuse for all sorts of rubbish.”

She also called out 2Face’s brother, Hyacinth Idibia, for once housing the singer, his kids, and Pero under the same roof.

She added that 2Face’s children’s mothers use their offspring as “an excuse for all sorts of rubbish.” She concluded by naming 2Face’s manager, Efe, Frankie, and the singer’s relatives, telling them that their action is “unacceptable.”

Pero has been at loggerheads with Annie for years. Their rift can be traced back to 2015 and 2016 when they both called each other out on social media.

Their frosty relationship took a front burner when photos of 2Face kissing Pero at the singer’s nightclub back in 2015 appeared on the internet.

Annie is allegedly a drug addict.

In April 2022, Idibia’s elder brother, Wisdom, publicly accused her of introducing him to hard drugs. In an emotional video posted on Instagram, he stated, “I am crying out for help at this moment because my life is being threatened.

I have been working with my sister for some time, but she never pays me my dues. Annie introduced me to hard drugs. She is a drug addict. She takes it every day and is so violent. She fights everybody.”

In a recent episode of “Young, Famous, and African,” Annie has exhibited behaviours that some interpret as signs of drug addiction, such as slurred speech and abnormal actions.

Reports also suggest that she has just been admitted to rehab.

They had too many people involved in their marriage.

After Annie accused 2Face of engaging in extramarital affairs with one of his baby mamas, Pero Adeniyi, she also criticized the Idibia family for not embracing her as their in-law, despite her efforts and sacrifices for the singer and his children.

Annie’s accusations led to a heated exchange between her family members and 2Face’s siblings, resulting in wild allegations.

2Face’s brother, Charles Idibia, rebuked Annie, accusing her of ranting online because things didn’t go her way.

He claimed that 2Face is “dying slowly” and is “unhappy in real life,” suggesting that the family often covers for Annie to maintain peace. Charles also insinuated that Annie’s mother practices “juju.”

Annie responded by saying that 2Face is “tired” because everyone is “trying to suck him dry” and criticized Charles for insulting her online despite living under her roof.

She argued that if trying to protect her husband and children makes her evil, she is content with that label.

Further escalating the situation, Annie was heard in a voice note threatening to “scatter everything” after alleging that 2Face sneaked out of Nigeria to America with his cousin, Frank, and manager, Efe Omorogbe, without informing her.

2Face later took to his Instagram page to call for peace and privacy, urging both families and their supporters to cease the public disputes.

He admitted that airing their personal issues on social media was unwise and pleaded with everyone to respect their privacy and let them handle their issues internally.

Pressure and Criticism from Social Media

Amira, an aspiring entrepreneur and social media influencer, has voiced her disappointment with men who publicly disrespect their wives, emphasizing that such behavior can negatively influence public perception of these women.

In an Instagram story, Amira noted, “A husband reflects his wife. How he treats her sets the standard for how others perceive and treat her.

Regardless of a woman’s accomplishments, intelligence, or respect in her field, if her husband disregards her worth, it paves the way for others to follow suit.”

Amira used Annie’s situation to illustrate how a partner’s disrespect can overshadow a woman’s accomplishments.

“Annie is a talented woman who has achieved so much. Many of us admired her when her husband, then boyfriend, featured her in his iconic African Queen music video.

It showcased his love for her so beautifully that their relationship became something to admire.”

However, Amira continued, the narrative has since shifted due to public incidents. “But today, the same man who made us adore her is the one who has exposed her to public ridicule through his cheating.”
