6 Asian Countries Nigerians Can Visit with Visa Fees Under ₦100,000
Planning a trip abroad can feel like a burden, especially once you add visa costs to flights and hotels. The good news is that several Asian countries keep visa fees relatively low for Nigerian travellers.
Below is a clear guide to six options with visa fees under ₦100k, plus the typical application basics. Always confirm the latest requirements before you apply because fees and rules can change.
1) Singapore — ~$30 (about ₦45,000)
Applications are submitted online, and the processing fee is non-refundable. You’ll need a Nigerian passport with at least six months’ validity and two blank pages, a completed application form, passport-standard photos, a travel plan covering flights and accommodation, and proof of sufficient funds. Processing usually takes about three working days after submission, though some cases take longer.
2) Japan — ~₦12,500
Visa applications are strictly by appointment and must be submitted in person at the Embassy of Japan in Abuja. Book your appointment at least 15 working days before travel and submit no later than 10 working days before departure.
Bring your valid passport, a completed form, a recent passport photo, flight and hotel bookings, and proof of funds such as a bank statement. Parents or guardians can schedule for minors, but each applicant must submit in person.
3) Sri Lanka — ~$50 (about ₦75,000)
Nigerian travellers must obtain a regular visa before departure. Prepare a passport photograph, a passport valid for at least six months beyond your trip, proof of funds like a bank statement, and a detailed itinerary with flights and accommodation.
The double-entry tourist visa is typically valid for 30 days, and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
4) Vietnam — $25 (about ₦37,500)
Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from arrival and has two blank pages. Submit a completed application along with your travel plan and accommodation details.
The single-entry visa fee is $25, and the same amount applies to children under 14 regardless of the validity period. Double-check that all documents are accurate before submitting.
5) Thailand — ~₦65,000 (single-entry tourist e-visa)
You can apply for a tourist e-visa and should be ready with a passport (six months’ validity and two blank pages), a filled form, a recent photo, proof of funds, a return ticket, and accommodation evidence.
Thailand also requires an original police clearance certificate and a copy of a drug clearance certificate, plus a flight booking confirmation that clearly shows your name and return itinerary. It’s best to apply four to six weeks before travel, but not more than three months in advance. Fees are non-refundable.
6) South Korea — ₦60,000 (single-entry up to 90 days) | ₦90,000 (single-entry over 90 days)
Applications require in-person submission. Provide a passport with at least six months’ validity, a completed form, a recent photo, proof of funds such as bank statements or acceptable assets, confirmed flights and hotel reservations, and a copy of a National ID, driver’s licence, or voter’s card issued within the last five years. Processing generally takes 10 to 15 business days, and fees are non-refundable.
