9 Players with Better Premier League Win Rates than Enzo Fernandez

When Enzo Fernandez arrived at Chelsea, having been acquired for a record-breaking £107 million from Benfica, expectations were sky-high. Fresh from a World Cup victory with Argentina, his potential seemed boundless.

However, the reality at Stamford Bridge has been starkly different. Amid Chelsea’s underwhelming performances, Fernandez’s Premier League stats show just 14 wins out of 47 appearances a mere 29.7% win rate.

Surprisingly, there are 9 players with better win percentages, and here they are:

Hermann Hreidarsson

Despite facing relegation with every Premier League club he played for, including Crystal Palace and Portsmouth, Hreidarsson still managed a win rate of 31.9% from his 332 appearances. His resilience, despite frequent team struggles, is notable.

Titus Bramble

Known for his defensive mishaps, Bramble’s win percentage sits at 33.5%. His career, spanning clubs like Ipswich and Sunderland, contradicts the harsher assessments of his performance with nearly a third of his 292 games ending in victory.

Francis Jeffers

Labelled a flop after a high-profile move to Arsenal, Jeffers still achieved a 36.9% win rate. His overall Premier League tally across teams like Everton and Blackburn reveals a more competent striker than remembered.

Andy van der Meyde

Despite a turbulent four years at Everton marked by personal struggles, Van der Meyde won half of his 20 Premier League appearances, a stark contrast to his off-field issues.

Roberto Soldado

Soldado’s stint at Tottenham didn’t live up to his £26 million fee, with just seven goals in 52 appearances. However, he still won 50% of these matches, a commendable figure given the circumstances.

Shkodran Mustafi

Arsenal’s Mustafi, often criticised during his tenure, retired with a win rate of 52% from 102 Premier League appearances, a strong record that stands above Fernandez’s.

Eric Djemba-Djemba

Despite being one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s less successful signings, Djemba-Djemba’s win record for Manchester United and Aston Villa was 45%, better than Fernandez’s at Chelsea.

Jean-Alain Boumsong

Boumsong’s time at Newcastle might be remembered for the wrong reasons, but with a 34% win rate in his Premier League career, he slightly edges out Fernandez.

Winston Bogarde

Bogarde is a notorious figure in Chelsea’s history, often cited as a poor transfer choice. Yet, he managed a 44.4% win rate, remarkably close to Fernandez’s, in just nine appearances.
