Aitana Bonmati Wins Women’s Ballon d’Or for the Third Time in a row

Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati was crowned winner of the Women’s Ballon d’Or in Paris on Monday, becoming the first player to claim the award three years in a row.

The 27-year-old saw off competition from her national teammate Mariona Caldentey, who also had a standout season. 

Both players were key to Spain’s journey to the Women’s Euro 2025 final, where they narrowly lost to England on penalties.
