All About Alma Asinobi, the Nigerian Travel Creator Who Toured All 7 Continents in 71 Hours
Alma Asinobi is not just a traveler, she is a starter. The Nigerian content creator and travel entrepreneur recently attempted to break the record for the fastest time to visit all seven continents.
Her incredible journey lasted 71 hours, taking her across the world in a whirlwind adventure that highlighted both the joys and struggles of global travel, particularly for Nigerians.

A journey against the odds
Alma’s attempt to challenge the Guinness World Record was more than just about speed, she set out to prove that African travelers, especially Nigerians, can push boundaries despite the barriers imposed by visa restrictions and passport limitations.
Her journey began on March 20 at King George Island in Antarctica. From there, she traveled through South America, North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, with her final stop planned for Australia. However, she faced an unexpected obstacle, Australia initially denied her entry due to visa issues.
After spending 56 hours in transit and just one step away from breaking the record, she was forced to reroute to Sydney instead of her planned destination, Perth.
Who is Alma Asinobi?

Alma Asinobi is a 26-year-old Nigerian woman with a passion for storytelling, travel, and digital content creation. She holds a degree in Architecture but has carved out a career as a marketing copywriter, travel entrepreneur, and content strategist.
Her online presence is filled with travel stories, insights into passport struggles, and guides for aspiring travelers.
Although she didn’t break the record officially, she achieved something just as significant, becoming the youngest and only Black woman to attempt this feat solo, using only a Nigerian passport.
Her journey, tagged #AlmaChasingContinents and #7in60, sparked global discussions on the inequality of travel privileges, especially for those from countries with weaker passports.
How Alma is inspiring a new generation
Alma’s love for travel wasn’t something she always had. As a child, she enjoyed road trips to her village, but it wasn’t until 2020 that she actively started exploring the world. A trip to a neighboring country opened her eyes to different cultures, sparking a desire to see more.
Since then, she has traveled extensively, sharing her experiences and inspiring young Africans to dream beyond their borders.
Her 71-hour global adventure wasn’t just about breaking a record, it was about rewriting the narrative. She showed that with determination, resourcefulness, and resilience, boundaries can be pushed, and new paths can be paved.
Even though she didn’t officially claim the Guinness World Record, she made history in her own way. Alma Asinobi is proof that Nigerian travelers can go anywhere and do it in style.
