Binance fugitive CEO Arrested, to be Extradited to Nigeria

Kenyan police have smoked out Nadeem Anjarwalla, the CEO of Binance who escaped from custody in Nigeria weeks ago, out of his bolthole in Kenya.

Media reports in Nigeria say the Kenya police authorities have since arrested him, and plans are underway to bring him back to Nigeria.

The EFCC, the International Criminal Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Kenyan Police Service are now working out arrangements for the extradition.

Anjarwalla alongside his co-CEO Tygran Gambaryan is facing trial in Nigeria for using their platform to manipulate the forex market, for tax evasion, and a raft of other financial crime allegations.

The biggest of the charge EFCC pressed against the duo is money laundering to the tune of $35,400,000.

Initially, the office of the National Security Adviser started the investigation, and had the foreigners in a private custody.

But since Anjarwalla escaped, the EFCC has taken over the case.
