Bitcoin Rises After Donald Trump’s Assassination Attempt

Bitcoin saw a rise to $62,508, marking a two-week high, after the unfortunate event where U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump was attacked.

This incident occurred during a rally in Pennsylvania, where Trump was reportedly shot in the ear but was in stable condition afterwards.

This shocking event seemed to boost his visibility and perceived support among some voters and investors, potentially increasing his chances in the upcoming election against Democratic President Joe Biden.

Investors seem to react to Trump’s pro-cryptocurrency stance, expecting that his possible reelection might favour the crypto sector.

Donald Trump has criticised Democratic efforts to regulate cryptocurrencies and has positioned himself as a champion of the sector, which has encouraged some investors to believe that his administration would favour policies beneficial to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether.

The rise in Bitcoin’s value also aligns with a broader trend in the cryptocurrency market, which saw a boost earlier in the year with the launch of several exchange-traded funds in the crypto market.
