Bobrisky Lands in Hospital as Immigration Remains Silent on His Fate
The fate of popular Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, remains unclear following his arrest by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme Border on Monday. According to the NIS Public Relations Officer, Deputy Controller of Immigration Kenneth Udo, Bobrisky was detained as a “person of interest.”
Since his arrest, Bobrisky’s condition and next steps have remained uncertain. The NIS confirmed on Monday that he was undergoing interrogation but has not provided further details. Sources within the NIS revealed that Bobrisky was allegedly rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment after developing a high fever and other symptoms. His current health status remains unconfirmed, and the NIS has not responded to inquiries regarding his situation.
What You Should Know
The Federal Government had earlier set up a panel to investigate allegations that Bobrisky had not served his six-month jail term in prison. The panel, led by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, submitted its findings on Monday, clearing Bobrisky of the allegations but confirming he had enjoyed certain privileges while incarcerated.
Bobrisky was arrested by NIS officials at the border for attempting to leave the country and has since remained in their custody. Whether he will be released once his health stabilises or face further legal action is yet to be determined.
