BREAKING: Federal Government Declares Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Adha
The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, speaking on behalf of the government. In a statement signed by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, the minister extended warm congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and worldwide on the occasion of Eid.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim community to embody the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and faith exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He encouraged everyone to use this sacred time to pray for peace and prosperity across Nigeria.
Highlighting ongoing efforts, the minister assured Nigerians that the reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are focused on steering the country towards sustainable growth and development.
In his message, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished all Muslim faithful a joyful Eid celebration and called on all Nigerians, regardless of faith or region, to unite and support the current administration’s efforts to rebuild the nation.
“Together, let us work hand in hand to restore Nigeria’s greatness,” he concluded.
