Bwala: Federal Government to Soon Name Terrorism Sponsors

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, says the Federal Government will soon make public the names of individuals and networks bankrolling terrorism in Nigeria.

Speaking during an interview on Television Continental (TVC) on Sunday, Bwala said the Tinubu administration is currently taking “far-reaching decisions” on national security and that the impact of these measures will become clear to Nigerians in the coming days.

He stressed that terrorism is no longer a problem confined within national borders but a global threat that demands international cooperation. According to him, world powers are beginning to better understand the need to support countries like Nigeria, where extremist groups have tried to extend their influence.

“Since the 9/11 attacks, terrorism has been recognised as a global security challenge. Any country where terrorists operate becomes a concern to the international community,” he said.

Bwala added that this is why Nigeria’s international partners must continue to work closely with the country to help weaken and dismantle terrorist networks.

He also noted that extremist activities, which were once concentrated in parts of the Middle East, have steadily shifted toward the Sahel region, turning it into a new hotspot of insecurity. This, he said, requires stronger regional and global coordination.

According to him, the Tinubu government is ramping up efforts to confront the threat within Nigeria’s borders and is ready to unmask those providing financial and logistical support to terrorists.

“At home, the government is taking decisive steps. In the coming days, Nigerians will know who the terrorists are and who is funding them,” Bwala said.
