Cristiano Ronaldo Sets New Record in Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again made history in the record books by becoming the highest goal scorer in a single Saudi Pro League season.

In Al Nassr’s final match of the season, Ronaldo scored his 34th and 35th goals, surpassing the previous record of 34 set by Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season.

The 39-year-old Portuguese star, known for his stellar career at clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United, demonstrated his enduring skill and charisma on the field.

He netted his record-breaking goal in first-half stoppage time and added another with a header in the 69th minute, leading Al Nassr to a 4-2 victory over Al Ittihad at home on Monday.

Following the match, Ronaldo, ever the headline-maker, tweeted, “I don’t follow the records, the records follow me,” showcasing his characteristic confidence and flair.

Despite Al Nassr’s second-place finish, 14 points behind champions Al Hilal, Ronaldo’s debut season has been a spectacle of success and fanfare since his move to Riyadh in December 2022.

His transfer marked the beginning of a significant trend of attracting international talents to the Saudi league under lucrative contracts.

Adding to his club achievements, Ronaldo is set to represent Portugal in the upcoming Euros in Germany, marking his 11th appearance in international tournaments.

He holds the record for the most caps in men’s international football with 206 appearances and has scored a record 128 goals.

This tournament will offer him another stage to continue his record-setting journey in football history.
