Cristiano Ronaldo Talks About His Friendly Moments with Lionel Messi Off the Field
Cristiano Ronaldo recently shared a story showing his friendly relationship with Lionel Messi, despite being known as rivals in soccer.
At an awards event, Ronaldo ended up helping out by translating for Messi, showing that they get along well off the field.
Ronaldo and Messi have been top soccer players for many years, often competing against each other when Ronaldo played for Real Madrid and Messi for Barcelona.
They have played against each other 36 times since their first match in April 2008.

Despite their competition, Ronaldo talked about their good relationship. “We’ve been at many awards together and always had a good time.
I even helped him understand what was being said in English once, which was pretty funny,” Ronaldo said during an interview with Chiringuito.
He also talked about their matches, “Sometimes he wanted to play every game and score goals, and I felt the same. It was good competition. I loved playing at Camp Nou; even the booing from the crowd was motivating.”
Ronaldo shared his special feelings for Real Madrid, the club where he felt happiest. “I left a mark there that people still remember. That means a lot to me.”
If I could achieve it, it would be great… but I’m not obsessed with it. It’s getting a bit annoying to talk about. I am the best player ever, I believe that. I’m fast, I’m strong, [I score] with my header, with the left.
“No one has ever been more complete than me. I’m the most complete player ever. To say that Cristiano isn’t complete is a lie. You may prefer Pele, Messi, Maradona, I understand and respect that.”
He confidently added, “I think I’m the most complete player ever. It would be great to score 1,000 goals, but my achievements already show what I can do.”
