Dangote Now Sells Petrol at N739 Per Litre Across MRS Stations Nationwide
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has started selling petrol at a pump price of N739 per litre across all MRS Oil Nigeria Plc filling stations nationwide, a move that is already changing the fuel market and offering relief to Nigerians.
The announcement marks a major step in the refinery’s plan to make fuel more affordable while improving stability in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
With more than 2,000 MRS stations spread across the country, the new price is expected to be available nationwide, not just in major cities.
This is a shift in fuel pricing
In a statement released on Sunday, the refinery explained that the price reduction is designed to ensure ordinary Nigerians benefit directly from local refining.
According to the company, marketers who have already adjusted their pump prices deserve recognition, as the move supports economic recovery at a time when many households are under pressure.
The refinery also encouraged other fuel marketers to adopt the new pricing structure so that more Nigerians can enjoy the benefits.
Festive Season Relief for Nigerians
Fuel scarcity and sudden price increases are common during Nigeria’s festive seasons. Many Nigerians usually prepare for long queues, higher transport fares, and rising living costs.
This time, Dangote Refinery has taken a different approach by cutting prices instead of increasing them.
Backed by a daily supply capacity of 50 million litres, the refinery says it can meet national demand and prevent shortages during the holidays. This steady supply is expected to reduce panic buying and discourage hoarding.
Why local refining matters
By refining petrol locally and at scale, Dangote Refinery is helping Nigeria reduce its dependence on imported fuel. This comes with several benefits: lower pressure on foreign exchange, better stability for the naira, and improved energy security.
For businesses, transport operators, and households, the steady supply and reduced price mean lower operating costs and some breathing space in a difficult economic climate.
Warning against artificial scarcity
The refinery issued a strong warning to fuel operators who may try to create artificial scarcity in response to the price reduction. It described such actions as unpatriotic and harmful, especially during a sensitive festive period.
Dangote Refinery called on regulatory agencies to remain alert and take firm action against anyone attempting to manipulate supply or frustrate the new pricing.
Advice to consumers and call to other marketers
Nigerians were advised not to buy petrol at inflated prices when cheaper options are available. The refinery reminded consumers that petrol refined locally is now being sold at N739 per litre across all MRS stations nationwide.
It also urged Nigerians to report any MRS station selling above the approved price by calling 0800 123 5264.
Dangote Refinery appealed to other petrol station operators to patronise its products. According to the company, wider adoption will ensure the price reduction reaches more Nigerians and helps create a more stable and fair fuel market.
Dangote refinery reaffirms its long-term commitment
Reaffirming its position, Dangote Petroleum Refinery stated that its focus goes beyond short-term market gains. The company said it remains committed to steady fuel supply, fair pricing, and strengthening Nigeria’s energy security.
Its goal, the refinery explained, is to consistently provide high-quality petrol at affordable prices while supporting economic stability and reducing Nigeria’s reliance on fuel imports.
With petrol now selling at N739 per litre nationwide, many Nigerians are hopeful that this move signals a more stable and predictable fuel market going forward.
