The Federal Government has announced that December 25 and 26, 2024, and January 1, 2025, will be public holidays for Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day celebrations.
Dr Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, shared this in a statement from Abuja. The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this announcement for the government. He sent his best wishes to all Nigerians and encouraged them to think about love, peace, and unity during these holidays.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo spoke about the importance of this season in bringing people together and strengthening family and community ties. He urged everyone to keep working towards Nigeria’s peace, unity, and progress, as these are important for the country’s growth.
He mentioned that this season is a time for thinking deeply and renewing our national spirit. “As we celebrate Jesus’ birth, the Prince of Peace, let us be kind and offer goodwill to each other, no matter our differences,” he said.
He promised that the government would keep working hard to ensure peace, security, and prosperity across the country. He ended his message with hope for 2025, believing that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda will bring a better and more prosperous economy that will make Nigeria a country admired around the world.
