Fidson Healthcare Appoints Vincent Ahonkhai, Ekwunife Okoli, and Ola Ojimakin into its Board

Lagos-based pharma company, Fidson Healthcare Plc, has announced the appointments of two Independent Non-Executive Directors and an Executive Director into its Board. The new Members of Fidson’s Board of Directors were appointed during the company’s Board meeting which held on the 9th of December, 2020.

According to a statement that was seen by Business Elites Africa, Dr Vincent Ahonkhai and Mr Ekwunife Okoli were both appointed as Independent Non-Executive Directors with effect from January 1st, 2021. On the other hand, Mr Ola Ijimakin was appointed as an Executive Director to oversee the company’s commercial activities.

Some Backgrounds Information about the new Board Members

Dr Vincent Ahonkhai: He is a Global Health expert in and Biopharmaceutical Researcher with many years worth of professional experience. He is currently an Independent Consultant and Principal at US-based Gwynedd Consultancy. He will bring onboard his research and development experiences which are needed by a pharma company like Fidson Healthcare Plc.

Note that Dr Ahonkhai graduated from the University of Lagos College of Medicine in 1972 with a degree in Bachelor of Medicine.

Mr Ekwunife Okoli: He is said to be an experienced Sales and Marketing Executive. He is the Founder and CEO of Advantage Consult Ltd, and has previously worked for many years in the FMCG sector. Between 2011 and 2015, he served as an Executive Director in charge of Marketing for Diageo Plc’s Africa Regional Markets.

Earlier between 2009 and 2011, he was the Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries. He also earlier served as the Managing Director for Guinness Cameroon between 2005 and 2009.

Mr Okoli is a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka where he earned a First Class Degree in Marketing. He also obtained an MBA in 1992 from the University of Benin. He is now expected to help “enrich the expertise in the Sales and Marketing Department” of Fidson Healthcare Plc.

Mr Ola Ojimakin: He has been with Fidson Healthcare Plc since 2002 when he was employed as a Regional Manager overseeing the Nortth-Eastern Region of Nigeria. In 2005, the University of Jos Pharmacy graduate was promoted to the position of Group Marketing Manager. He has also previously served as a General Manager (Marketing) and General Manager (Sales). Prior to joining Fidson, Mr Ojimakin had worked with several other companies both within and outside the country. He has an MBA from the Business School Netherlands.
